Subject New At Tunes: Straight In At No.2

Greetings,
A driver for multi-million selling US act the Dave Matthews
Band has been charged with reckless conduct after dumping human
waste from the tour bus over a bridge onto passengers aboard a
boat on the Chicago River. Around 100 gallons of the five piece
outfit's creative matter was offloaded on scores of horrified
punters enjoying an architectural tour of the scenic river,
several of whom "became immediately ill and tore their clothes
off" amid the chaos of the murky downpour.
The band, whose music is described as "a pop-oriented
version of the Grateful Dead crossed with the worldbeat explor-
ations of Paul Simon and Sting", are champions of environmental
causes and quickly stumped up $100,000 to organizations
involved in cleaning up the river. Driver Dave Wohl, meanwhile,
faces up to a year in the slammer, where his experience of
slopping out should secure him a plum job in the prison
labour force.

##ALBUM OF THE WEEK##

Laurent Garnier's most personal album to date is something
of a diversion. Ten songs written over the past four years,

contemporary classical music than the kind of brain-busting
techno that die-hard fans might expect.
