Chasin' The Jazz Gone By - Five Corners Quintet

The debut album from the superb FCQ is a straight up instant classic, with its perfect blend of acoustic jazz and dancefloor grooves gathering together their phenomenally recieved (now deleted) 10" release and a batch of brilliant new tracks. Essential.

Best album I have purched in any genre for a long time. Fantastic vibe throughout, and although the vocal cuts are superb, the instrumental tracks are the real killers.Mark Murphy's beat poem rendition on the final cut just cues the album up for a second immediate listening. If I have one gripe its that around half of the tracks have been previously released,so lets have some outtakes/leftovers on a new ep a.s.a.p.This recording should be bought by anyone with ears

I love this stuff. Great cover on the gatefold LP too. If they keep it this up, Ricky Tik'll be pushing Schema for a top spot on the European Jazz scene. It's good to hear talented musicians!
