Niko Ryhanen has been working on his Aphilas project releasing mellow and soulful downtempo gems on the US label Merck. Now, his solo project Kaino is a step forward. He has a wide range of influences from Boards of Canada, Pink Floyd to Premier and Madlib, so no wonder the songs on his debut EP are infused with a beautiful melancholy feel. But somewhere in the mix they also include something for the dancefloor, a variety of slick soul and excellent use of jazz & latin samples.
