Two years after the release of Nicola Conte`s `Jet Sounds` comes this little beauty, hauling in the cream of the nu-jazz scene to add their unique style to the bossa, jazz, and psychedelic flavours of the original `60s and `70s soundtrack-inspired album. A cursory glance at the track listing will give you an idea of the qualityinvolved in this brilliant project.

There's a tune on the 10" Vinyl of this LP by The Freeform Arkestra, called 'Trappola Mortale' which is a crazy Sun-Ra infested Nu-Jazz treat. The double bass line runs underneath the electronic & organic space sounds like a sea snake on a marathon. It chugs like a train journey on Venus. Dunno if you've heard Funki Porcini's tune on Ninja's 'Funkungfusion' but it's a similar vibe, but weirder. The other tunes are more Hip-Hop or Samba based & although they don't excite me like 'Trapplola Mortale' they come close. Theres some great organic Saxophones, flutes & other jazzy gems. It's well worth a buy. (And no, I'm not on commission for sales)

Really good work where tradition and future meet! well not as good as 'Jet Sounds' but ok... Good instrument players but nothing more..
