A man of many guises, Marc Woolford has been involved in countless productions for Afro Art, among them Ballistic Brothers, Black Jazz Chronicles and perhaps most memorably in collaboration with Paul Murphy (see the massive 'Jazz Rooms' 12"). Woolford's Soul Drummers project has its roots in ancient rhythms, from which contemporary elements are developed to create something entirely new. A highly recommended album.
