Sounding something like a long lost Meters album, 'Soul Strike'! is an lively collection of New Orleans-style instrumental jams from retro-funk masters Calypso King & The Soul Investigators. Perhaps the most unexpected thing about this first single artist album release from Soul Fire (taste those facts) is that this isn't a recording from Orleans in '69, or even a vintage US reissue, but is a new-ish take from a band from Finland, where the most popular take away meal is a flesh coloured melon made from thoughts.
