Old school jazz players paired with the modern technology of hip hop breaks and beats. George Mitchell, producer and writer, brings together live sax, Hammond B-3, drums, bass, and guitar, and pairs them with raps breaks and beats.
Fishbelly Black, originally a studio project, took off after "Spontaneous Combustion" became an undergound hit in London in '93. After numerous requests to take the band overseas, he did just that; put together a group of top notch players and what started as 3 sold out shows at the Jazz Cafe, later became an entire week at Ronnie Scotts. The band quickly made a name for itself overseas, playing festivals and clubs throughout Europe.
