This special little platter comes from Washington DC’s own See-I, known to many for their contributions to a number of Thievery Corporation albums. The original “King” tune is a seriously heavy dub tune produced by Rhythm and Culture artist and 18th St Lounge resident DJ Thomas Blondet with its conscious lyrics and deep delayed out horn lines. On the flip, Bastard Jazz artist The Magic Fly flips The King on its head for an incredibly funky reggae workout with big bouncy drums and upfront guitar that sounds like it could’ve come straight out of the Randy’s studio in the early 70s!
