Back in '74 when the Black Consciousness movement was in full swell in North American cities, James Brown recorded a track which became an anthem for the movement. This single is the instrumental reading by his famous house-band of the track, with solos from the usual suspects including Fred and Maceo, its driving bassline penetrates relentlessly like a ramrod. Whoops and shouts courtesy of Mr Wesley himself and Mr Brown on production duties. A must-have historic piece of 45 rpm wax for all funkateers.
