The late Fela Kuti has been highly influential on the dancefloors of London recently. Following in the steps of Ashley Beedle, Masters At Work and others, Soul Ascendents are making what could be called Afrofunk House. Featuring Fela`s drummer Tony Allen on three tracks, Variations mixes live instruments and technology to create a real live groove which is irresistably funky.
