Rare and unreleased cuts on a superb overview of the gritty and vibrant sound that emerged from The Lone Star State between 1968 and 1975. During this rich period, Texas was a melting pot for African Americans, rural whites and Mexicans, and the consequent fusion created a singular sound that drew on rock, psychedelia, R&B, garage, jazz, blues and, of course, funk. A fascinating collection.
