I live in Philly and this album is an excellent rendition of the Philly sound over the past 12 months or so. King Britt and Jazzy Jeff have worked wonders to help redefine the soundz coming out of our fair city. The "Philly sound" is a blend of soul, hip-hop and funk with a splash of lounge thrown in for good measure. The sound may be more "gritty" and raw than some may like but that's pretty much like Philly. Gritty on the surface but deep, warm and spiritual on the inside...
